Hostel Prague means ARENA HOSTEL

The Arena Hostel is located across the street from the T-Mobile Arena, a part of the "Vystaviste" Exhibition Grounds. Everyone in Prague knows Vystaviste, in case you need directions. On the #5, #14 or #17 tram, look for the unique Vystaviste Main Hall and you can't miss your stop. Facing this building, Arena Hostel is the green corner building on the far end the block to your right, just before the trams underpass the railroad.

Getting to Arena Hostel

From the Airport:

Inside the airport, among the car-rental agencies is an MHD (or DP) booth that sells public transport tickets, as well as unlimited tourist passes for 1, 5 or 10 day unlimited travel on ALL Prague public transport. They're a great bargain, as well as a convenience. 8 crown tickets are good for a single ride. 12 crown tickets are good for an hour, including any transfers and will be your best individual-ticket bet.

The bus stops are just outside the Airport International Flights exit. Take the #119 bus to Dejvicka (the 119's last stop, where everyone will exit). The metro entry is right there. Remember, your 12 crown ticket is still good and you needn't stamp it again, just keep it in your pocket in case you're asked for it. This is also the end of the Green Line A metro, so there's no choice to make but to get on. Take it to the "Museum" stop, where you change to Red Line C Metro. All three Prague metros (Red, Green and Yellow lines) converge at Museum, so take a moment to orient yourself and follow the signage.

Your ticket is still valid. Take the Red Line C metro 4 stops to Nadrazi Holesovice and exit using the staircase. You're almost at ARENA HOSTEL---follow the tram tracks to the right about 150 meters, then turn left, following the tracks another 120 meters, under the railroad bridge. Come up the stairs to the green building on the corner - that's Arena Hostel.

From anywhere in town:

Take any metro to a Red Line connection point, then the Red Line C metro 4 stops to Nadrazi Holesovice and exit using the staircase. You're almost at ARENA HOSTEL---follow the tram tracks to the right about 150 meters, then turn left, following the tracks another 120 meters, under the railroad bridge. Come up the stairs to the green building on the corner - that's Arena Hostel.

Your orientation point - Vystaviste

By tram from downtown:

ARENA HOSTEL is no more than 4 or 5 tram stops from all major tourist spots (the Castle, Letna Park, Old Town Square area, Wenceslas Square, Mala Strana and Charles Bridge). There are 3 day trams (numbers 5, 14, 17) and one night tram (number 53) going to the "Vystaviste" stop.

Nearest train station:

ARENA HOSTEL is about 300 meters from Holesovice Train Station (Nadrazi Holesovice), which is one of Prague's major International stations. If you're coming into Prague by train, ask your ticket sales person or conductor whether you can get off there. Directions same as above from the Metro.

Quick tips on the Public Transport System:

  • Prague has an amazingly cheap, on-time, safe and convenient public transport system - use it! Remember, after midnight the night-trams run only at 45 minute intervals.

  • Public Transportation (Czech abbreviation MHD) tickets are available in the closest newspaper stand, most Tabac (tobacco shops), metro entrance booths or in yellow automas near or in the stations

  • Buy 12-crown one-way tickets ("jizdenka") or, better yet, a pass for the duration of your stay (1, 5 or 10 day passes) and travel as you wish without inconvenience.

  • No tickets are sold on board, so make sure you buy before entry.

  • Once inside the tram or bus (or in the metro at the station entrance) mark your ticket in the yellow machine (only once at the beginning). Tickets show an arrow, so you'll mark the proper end.

  • If you don't see others do it, remember that most Praguers have monthly passes, which don't require stamping.
